TP Therapy
Life is extremely busy right now with studying for my ACE PT certification, training 5k/10 groups and training myself. I love it and would not have it any different. So those are the reasons for my posts being a little sporadic lately. I love writing posts because I not only use it to provide useful information to my readers, it’s also a way I can share my experience strength, and hope with others. With that being said, I want to share some information that I have shared before, but find it important, especially for runners.
During our training programs we offer 3 clinics, core, Trigger Point and nutrition. One Saturday out of the month, during the training programs, we meet for the scheduled run then return to the store and spend about an hour going through some great information. Yesterday was our Trigger Point clinic. One of the owners of the store, Paul, presented the clinic while I was his trusty helper. Not only is Paul extremely knowledgeably about the TP Kit, he is actually friends with the guy who created it!
What are “trigger points”?
TRIGGER POINTS ARE TINY KNOTS THAT DEVELOP IN A MUSCLE WHEN IT IS INJURED OR OVERWORKED. COMMONLY A CAUSE OF MOST JOINT PAIN, THEY ARE KNOWN TO CAUSE HEADACHES, NECK AND JAW PAIN, LOW BACK PAIN, TENNIS ELBOW, AND CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME.
THERE ARE SIX MAJOR AREAS OF THE BODY THAT WE FEEL ARE KEY PLAYERS IN THE HUMAN BIOMECHANICAL CHAIN. WE CALL THIS “ULTIMATE 6″ AND WE BUILD UPON THIS FOUNDATION BY TARGETING THESE SPECIFIC AREAS RESULTING IN EVEN GREATER EFFICIENCY OF MOVEMENT.
1. Soleus
3. Quadriceps
3. Iliotibial (IT) Band
4. Psoas
5. Piriformis
6. Pectoral
Don’t know what Trigger Point Therapy is?
Trigger Point Performance Therapy addresses biomechanical efficiency within the body from the ground up. Similar to the structure of a well-built house, the foundation of the body begins at the foot and is built by establishing a sound and efficient base. The stronger the foundation, the more positive response the body will yield as a whole.
How does it work?
The Trigger Point TP Massage Ball, TP Footballer and TP Quadballer work to improve your body’s performance by increasing the elasticity within the muscles, allowing them to rebound to their natural state. This is achieved through increased blood flow, elevated oxygen use, and reduction of scar tissue and muscle adhesions.
There is a plethora of information on the website, www.tptherapy.com.
I can not stress how much Trigger Point, if done regularly, can not only prevent injuries but can speed recovery of any aches and pains you may be suffering now. It’s like everything else, you must make time to reap the benefits, otherwise, you are missing out.

My triggerpoint kit is officially my BFF. I use it daily and firmly swear by it too!
I am truly forming a closer relationship with mine!
I believe in trigger point too! It does really help. The local Fleet Feet in town has those TP bundles. I have been really thinking about investing in it for myself.
Tasha, it is a really good investment!
A friend let me try the quad one and it felt really weird and uncomfortable. Almost like my big fat quad couldn’t fit in the space provided. lol.
I have the grid roller though and love it.
